Every year, the hashtag #RPGaDAY makes its way around the social medias, and gamers try their damnedest to answer each question every day. Most fail. I probably will too. BUT. I will try!
Today's question: Which RPG cover best captures the spirit of the game?
In an effort to avoid having Tales from the Loop take up too many of these answers, today's pick is one equally as beautiful, equally as Swedish, and equally as evocative; Symbaroum.
Symbaroum, by game design house Järnringen, is a dark and gritty fantasy that takes players into a world rich in lore, rife with danger, and teeming with political upheaval. All you need to do is look at that cover and you immediately get a feel for the tone of the game. The core book and accompanying modules are packed from cover to cover with more art just like the one on the cover. The art brings imagery of struggle, corruption, and mystery; everything that this game promises to deliver.
Symbaroum is on my shortlist of games to run (or play).
